About this story
A cave full of gold, and the most valuable thing in it is not the gold.
Dracao spent so many years alone that he had forgotten what visitors were like. Now dogs of every age come to hear him, and for the first time he feels that he belongs somewhere.
He shows them his collection: a blue crystal that belonged to a little dog who faced a storm to save her family. A gold coin from an explorer who opened a road between two distant cities. Every object holds a story of courage that should never be forgotten.
Then he does something he has never done. He tells them each to choose one, as a keepsake of this new friendship.
Pigúiça finds a small golden star. Fofuxo finds a crystal that seems to have been waiting a very long time just for him.
And they both understand what the real treasure was all along.
