About this story
He is the size of a house. He is covered in green scales. And he is terrified of visitors.
The creature hidden among the treasures finally steps out of the shadows, and the puppies run to hide behind Fofuxo. But Pigúiça notices something the others miss.
That dragon does not look frightening. He looks lonely.
There is no anger in his eyes. No wickedness. They are curious eyes, kind, and a little shy, like a giant puppy who cannot remember how to make friends.
So while everyone else watches from a distance, Pigúiça takes a few small steps forward, looks straight up at him, and says hello.
Nobody has ever done that before.
His name is Dracao. And the whole cave lights up when he is happy.
