There's a big gap between «I found a drawing online» and «my child is happily coloring at the kitchen table.» In between sit the printer, the ink, and that moment when the sheet comes out cut in half.

Before you print: pick the right one

A drawing that's great for a three-year-old is terrible for an eight-year-old, and the reverse. For little ones, look for large figures with few elements. For older kids, scenes with backgrounds, several characters, and details that demand patience. The Dogavios collection has 239 options for exactly this reason: you can match the age and the mood of the day.

The step-by-step for a perfect print

  • Paper: standard 75gsm copy paper is fine. If your child uses paint or markers that bleed, 120gsm is worth it, it won't wrinkle or bleed through.
  • Scale: choose «fit to page» or «shrink to printable area.» That's what stops the sheet coming out cropped.
  • Draft mode: a coloring page is black lines on white. Printing in «draft» or «greyscale» uses a fraction of the ink and looks identical.
  • Margins: keep the defaults. Borderless sheets are a pain to stick into a notebook later.

No printer at home?

Two easy routes: put the images on a USB stick and print at a copy shop (black and white usually costs pennies a page), or ask a family member to print at work. Print ten at once, it's the same trip.

Keep what's been colored

A folder with an elastic band and your child's name on the cover turns loose sheets into a collection. Children come back to look at what they made, and that feeds the urge to make more.

After the pencils, the story

If your child colored Pigúiça and got curious about her, that's the perfect cue: the little husky of the Magical Garden has a whole book and a free game waiting. Coloring first and meeting the story after tends to fill an entire afternoon.
